Trinidad & Tobago thrashed Guyana 5-1 to reach the semi-finals of the North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) women's Olympic qualification tournament.

Both countries were level on three points going into the final Group B games in Houston, so the clash was a straight shoot-out to see who would join Canada in the last four.

It was Trinidad & Tobago who prevailed, although they now face the daunting prospect of a semi-final clash with hosts United States, the Olympic and world champions.

The two winners of the last four games will book their place at the Rio 2016 Olympics, with Canada confirming their status as group winners by cruising past winless Guatemala 10-0 to make it three victories out of three.

The Olympic bronze medallists will now meet Group A runners-up Costa Rica in the semi-finals.

In the first game at the BBVA Compass Stadium, Guyana were left shell-shocked as their opponents raced into a 3-0 lead after just 16 minutes to essentially end the contest.

Kennya Cordner set the ball rolling for Trinidad & Tobago after seven minutes and the advantage was doubled just two minutes later thanks to Mariah Shade.

An own goal by Guyana's Justine Rodrigues shortly after the quarter of an hour mark made things worse for her side, and another goal for the islanders arrived before the break through Ahkeela Mollon.

Bria Williams struck for Guyana two minutes from time to reduce the arrears, but by then the damage had been done and Cordner added her second and Trinidad & Tobago's fifth in the second half.

Canada's crushing win matched that of the US, who won by the same margin against Puerto Rico yesterday.

Nichelle Prince and Rebecca Quinn both scored hat-tricks, with the first goal from the latter coming from the penalty spot.

Melissa Tancredi also bagged a brace in the heavy win with Gabrielle Carle and Janine Beckie also registering.

The semi-finals which will decide the Rio qualifiers will take place on Friday (February 19) in Houston.
